Kier Edison C. Belleza started his career in his last year of college. He worked as a news correspondent at the Manila Bulletin, the Philippines’ leading national newspaper, in 2017.
It was a first in the Manila Bulletin’s 120-year history that it hired a college student to be a news correspondent.
As a news correspondent, Kier covered any news of local relevance and, often, national significance across all beats.
This work made him proficient in the Associated Press style, which is the style guide used in the journalism industry.
Despite having to juggle school and work at an early age, Kier graduated cum laude with a diploma in bachelor of arts in communication from Cebu Normal University.
He went on to become a correction editor at an outsourcing company in IT Park in Cebu City.
At the same outsourcing company, Kier then became a copy editor trained in the Chicago Manual of Style, the style guide used widely in the publishing industry.
Today, he works as the communications officer of Profiles Asia Pacific Inc., the leading and premier provider of online psychological assessments in the Philippines.
He also works as a training facilitator at People Dynamics Inc. (an affiliate company of Profiles Asia Pacific), where he designs and delivers training programs on professional and personal development.
Over the years, he has trained hundreds of business professionals in areas including business writing, technical writing, news writing, communication, and training facilitation.
In his two current positions, he has attained numerous credentials:
1. He became a member of Google Inc.’s worldwide community of technical-writing facilitators in July 2020. In said community, facilitators around the world share insights on technical writing and conduct internal train-the-trainer sessions, among others.
2. In August 2020, he was certified in the DISC model of human behavior, which enables him to help people learn how to better communicate with others.
3. Qualified as an emotional intelligence practitioner with Genos International since September 2020, Kier can offer valuable insight into professional and personal well-being.
